With 25+ years of combined experience, we’ve worked as computational design leaders across AEC teams delivering digital capability in practice. Nearly nine years ago, while working at different firms, we founded a nonprofit to build community and expand awareness of computational thinking across the Detroit AEC ecosystem. That work showed us that awareness alone isn’t enough. Firms need a catalyst and a guide. That insight led to Vessll.
Alongside industry work, we have taught Computational Thinking to undergraduate and PhD students at Penn State and Lawrence Tech University, and have published papers in leading journals. We’ve also each received AIA Honorary Member Awards recognizing the impact our computational approach to design thinking has had across our industry.
